Diabetic Patient. Taking Medications For Uric Acid Problems. Having Pain In Knees And Shoulders. How To Recover From This?
Well my mom is 58 year old diabetic patient and now having uric acid problem she is on medication but still Her knees and shoulders always pain alot. What should we do to control her uric acid without disturbing her diabetes. And is it hard for a diabetic patient to recover from uric acid problem? Regards Atul shrivastava
Insulin resistance, as occurs in diabetes is considered as one of the cause of increased uric acid production. Management of hyperuricemia includes: 1. Xanthine oxidase inhibitors (like Allopurinol)- they decrease the production of uric acid 2. Uricosurics (like Probenecid)- they increase the excretion of uric acid in urine
Other than that she needs to take a low protein diet. Also the blood glucose level needs to be monitored regularly.
Wishing your mom a good health. Take care.
