Diabetic, Shows Symptoms Of Low Energy, Ringing In Ears, Severe Headaches. What Is Happening ?

my dad is 73 years old, has diabetes and recently he is displaying symptoms of low to no energy, ringing in his ears and sometimes he describes it as sounding like water-dripping, and accompanied with severe headaches. He has 30% lung capacity from asbestos in the auto plants over the years, yet the cardiologist in this area found nothing. He is scheduled to see a specialist in Ann Arbor yet me and my mom are worried and seek some answers. Could you give us some insight into what be going on with him?

Diabetologist 's  Response
hi,
went through your query, some things remain unexplained.. is his diabetes under control?, is he on a proper diet schedule?
going through your note it seems he is suffering from a possible case of Hypoglycemic headaches which results from low glucose levels in the blood, possible because of maladjusted medication doses, which again may manifest as low or no energy.
about the ringing in his ear, his age suggests a condition called Otosclerosis, also, Diabetic neuropathy may have set in resulting in sensory neural disturbances in either one or both ears.
we also should not forget electrolyte imbalances in the body as a cause for the ringing, in any case pl meet an ENT specialist for the same and i'll advise a mandatory CTscan of the head & neck along with other investigations
