Diabetic With Pulled Muscle. Pain And Bruised Veins On The Leg. Advice?
Hello, I am a white male, 55yrs and a diabetic. About six months ago I was walking and I suddenly felt like I pulled my right calf muscle. There was pain and within a few days a purple and reddish bruise formed at the base of my calf with spider veins following shortly after. I have had an ultrasound and there was nothing abnormal found. For over seven months the bruise and veins seem to progress and dissipate with the amount of activity I am doing. The bruise and veins are still present with a pain range at a 3. Please advise
It looks that you had pulled muscle previously & you are a diabetic. The good part in your story is that you are improving & there is less amount of pain. The bruise is taking longer part to disappear but this is not abnormal for your age.If there is no redness or increased local temperature then there is nothing to worry about it.
Hope this all will help you.
With best wishes.
