Diagnosed IBS. Taking Amatiza. Have Mucus In BM, Pieces Of Red Tissue. More Information About IBS?

I have been diagnosed with IBS and have been taking Amatiza for about 2 years. In the last 6 or so months, I have noticed a lot of mucus looking material in my BM. I do not have what I would consider to be normal BM. I think of them as the same substance of a "sand castle" that falls apart when they get wet. For the past few months I have noticed that I have pieces of what appear to be red tissue that separates from the fecal matter and floats. Lately, there has been quite a lot. Is this a normal symptom of IBS?? I appreciate any information you can give me so I can become better educated about IBS.

Fortunately IBS doesn't cause permanent damage to your colon.symptoms can be improved by managing your diet, lifestyle and stress.
Triggers affect some people ranging from gas or pressure on your intestines to certain foods, medications or emotions. Many people find that their signs and symptoms worsen when they eat certain foods and symptoms are worse or more frequent during stressful events,
A diagnosis of irritable bowel syndrome depends largely on a complete medical history and physical exam.
Taking fiber supplements, such as psyllium or methylcellulose with fluids may help control constipation.
medications that affect certain activities of the autonomic nervous system (anticholinergics) help to relieve painful bowel spasms.
Antidepressant medications like amitriptyline help relieve depression as well as inhibit the activity of neurons that control the intestines. For abdominal pain without depression, your doctor may suggest a lower than usual dose of tricyclic antidepressants.
Be relaxed and happy as the stress aggravates the symptoms.
Take care!
