Diagnosed As TB In Uterus After Blood Tests, Advised Taking Akt4 Tablets. Should I Take TB Treatment?
I had gone to a guynaecologist for my ivf. She asked me to go for some muktipke blood tests which included tb gold test also. Before waiting for the reports she did my hystroscopy and after that when the report came for tb gold test it was ppositive. Now she has advised me to take akt4tablets and some other tablets for treatment of tb in uterus.she told me taht i will have to take these medicines for atleast 4months and then we can go for ivf.. is all this correct. Should i take the tb treatment?is this doctor reliable? I have read that blood tests are not the reliable sources fir diagonosing tb of uterus.
As you have mentioned TB IgM may not be relied upon. It indicates that the antibody against Tuberculosis is present in the blood. The gold standard is to demonstrate the organism. But TB is one of the cause of infection in a country like India and it also causes infertility when the uterus is involved. Even it the doctor suspects clinically empirical ATT is justified in our setting.
