Diagnosed Hole In Heart, Abnormal EKG, Family History Heart Ailments, Stress Test Showed PCV, Normal. What Is It?
a year ago my cardiologist discovered a hole in my heart after a tia. my dad had multiple heart attacks that he did not realize (by age 59)...and my grandfather died of a heart attack at 63. I am 43 and concerned that I keep having abnormal ekgs. today I had a stress test...it showed pcv's but he said within normal limits. what does this mean????
Dear Sir
thanks for writing to us.
first of all it is understood that there is a history of Anginal heart disease or CAD in your family. but it is a risk factor for you only if they develop it before the age of 55 years in case of males and before age of 65 in case of females relatives. second thing is if your stress test shows only VPCs and nothing else, then you should be happy. it again says that you don't have any significant obstruction in your blood vessels of heart.
now coming back to hole in your heart. that is a separate entity , not related to disease causing heart attack. i will be able to throw more light on this if you can tell me your detailed ECHO report. but in all probability it was not serious else your cardiologist would have told you.
feel free to write further
sincerely
