Diagnosed With Atrial Fibrillation And Atrial Flutter. Stent Inserted To Open Blocked Coronary Artery. Will Alcohol Consumption Act As Vasodilator?
Recently diagnosed with Atrial Fibrillation and Atrial Flutter. Then they found a 90 % blocked coronary artery and stented it. On Plavix generic and 2 heart meds (Sotalol and Diltiazem) to control rythym and rate, now in the 50s. Would alcohol consumption act as a vasodilator and cause the stent to move, thus causing another issue?
hello, thank you for asking this question. The effects of the alcool on the blood vessels are paradoxal. It means that the short time effect of the alcool on blood vessels is vasodilator and the long time effect is vasoconstrictor worsing your problem. Few amounts of it for a short time may be helpful. Kind regards
