Hi Tracey,
Welcome to Healthcare Magic!
Please do not feel apologetic about your spelling. We at Healthcare Magic understand that you are going through a difficult phase and are here to help you to the best of our ability.
I understand that you have benefited from
Risperdal but are concerned about its side effects. You are also unwilling to integrate all of yourself, as you said. In my experience, the best thing that can guide you through this difficult phase is a good rapport with your
psychiatrist. Please discuss all your problems and fears with your psychiatrist in detail, because when you open yourself and show that you trust your doctor, your doctor also feels he can trust you to accept his guidance and help. This mutual bidirectional relationship is called rapport and is of immense importance in improving the outcome of your treatment.
I personally feel that I am always able to treat better those patients who do not hesitate to discuss their problems with me in detail, so that together we can find the best possible solution. I hope you also will be able to form a good rapport with your doctor and will no doubt improve.
Hope this helps. Feel free to consult again if there are any clarifications.
Best wishes.
Dr Preeti Parakh
