Diagnosed With Dysfuctional Uterine Bleeding. Having Prolonged Period With Paleness And Dizziness. Treatment? Serious?
I am 13 years old, and 2 years ago I was diagnosed with Dysfuctional Uterine bleeding. My period NEVER lasts more than 7 days, nor do I ever have cramps or unusual pains. My menstrual cycle is currently at it's 9th day and I'm getting slightly paler, as well as dizzy. It was very very heavy up until yesterday. My parents refuse to bring me to the doctor. Is this okay?
hi there, It is not ok to have menstural flow for nine days continously and especially if you are having symptoms of dizzyness and palor. You need to visit a doctor and if your parents are not convienced then you can go yourself to the ER. In the meanwhile you can take plenty of fluids and refrain from any vigrous activity. Do inform any other adult about the same and take immediated action.Do take care.
Flow for so long is definitely abnormal
Pale and dizzy mean anaemia from blood loss..
You must see a doctor / convince your parents...
In the mean time, take iron supplements.
If there are no specific contra-indications, contraceptive pills for a couple of months may be useful in dysfunctional bleeding...
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
