Diagnosed With Fibromyalgia. Prescribed B12 Injections And High Dosage Of Vitamin D. What Is The Cause?
Hello,
I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia a few months ago. I have been prescribed B12 Injections and a high dose of Vitamin D. I am 33 years old and have always had irregular periods. When I say that I have always be irregular, I mean that I normally only have less than half of the normal cycles. I just finished my first full month of the vitamins, and have had two heavy periods within 3 weeks. I was just wondering if the injections and vitamin D are the cause of the change in my cycles?
Hi thanks for the query, The exact cause of fibromyalgia is not exactly known. But there is a notion of generalized chronic inflammation of the connective tissue, generally affecting most mostly the proximal joints. General malaise, tiredness and fever are also commonly seen symptoms. Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, steroids, oxytocin, psychotherapy are generally effective against this condition. Injections of Vit D and Vit B would not generally change your cycle. You need not bother about that for now. Kind regards
