Diagnosed With MRSA. On Third Round Of Antibiotics. Passing Dark Stools. Body Swollen. Stop Antibiotics?
Son has been diagnosed with MRSA. On third round of antibotics. Started last one 5 days ago. His stools have gotten darker each day and are now black. We called the infectious control dr and she is out of the office till Friday and won't take a page and her patients are not referred. He has no pain in his stomach. His body is swollen. Should he stop the antibotics?
Hi, Thank you for your query. Black stools are suggestive of bleeding in the upper part of gastrointestinal tract or due to intake of iron syrup. I suggest you to consult the pediatrician immediately to know the cause for black stools and to investigate the child stool for any infection. Hope I have answered your query. Regards.
