Diagnosed With PCOS, Thyroid. Had An Ectopic Pregnancy. Took Methotrexate Injection. Difficulty In Conceiving?
Hi,
I had been diagnosed with PCOS and also thyroid problem 8 months ago, and my weight was 62kgs(Height-5feet,Age-28) at that time. I had an ectopic pregnancy at that time itself after taking Clomid and Progesterone tablets also with some injection too. Then treated by Methotrexate injection. Now my weight is 57kgs. Is my weight within normal range now? Also iam taking thyronorm 75mcg tablets everyday. Could you please let me know is it difficult for me to conceive bcz PCOS and Thyroid problem is being diagnosed?
Hi, Welcome to HCM, After going through your history, sorry to know that you had ectopic pregnancy but good thing is that you have been successfully treated. Now you have two medical issues that is hypothyroidism and PCOS( Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). Your weight 57 kg for height of 5 feet is upper side of normal so do not worry but try to lose few kilograms by diet and exercise. Methotrexate is antimetabolite but There is no evidence of adverse effects of MTX[Methotrexate] treatment of ectopic pregnancy on future pregnancies Pregnancy may be tried after the HCG level in blood becomes undetectable. But it is better to consult your Gynecologist and literature recommends a four to six month washout period before conception. Because of PCOS and hypothyroid issues it may be slightly more difficult as compared to normal couples but be hopeful and positive certainly this is possible. Hope this helps. Take care. Good Luck.
