Diagnosed With PVC. Also Have Minimal Valve Murmur. Reduction In Endurance, Muscle Strength. Serious?
I was just informed I have PVC about 25% of the time. I had a 48 hr Holter monitor, Nuclear treadmill stress test and ECG last week. I have also a minimal valve murmur in the upper chamber. I'm 73 male active workout 5 days a week and try to get 45 min cardio. in my routine. I have noticed quite a reduction in my endurance and muscle strength. My cardiologist is out of town and his PA talked to me about her findings and madean appointment in Jan 2014 to see him. I'm concerned this is too far out considering she said I have the PVC about 25% of the time. She did say these were picked upon the Holter monitor & I did see them on the stress test. I have a copy of the stress test results but none of the other tests. Am I at any serious risk? It seems no one is too concerned because the appointment to see my cardiologist would have been much much sooner but it is set for Jan 6 2014. I would appreciate an answer ASAP to YYYY@YYYY .
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really agree with your concern, Let me give you my personal opinion in this regards and this could be consider as your doctor's opinion if would be of kind,PVC formally known as " Premature Ventricular Capture" it is more Physiological phenomenon rather than having any exact etiology because the reasons whatever are there, are numerous and difficult to differentiate from each other, more over this could also happens in healthy individual equally, most of the patient does not have any symptoms, rarely symptomatic patients need treatment and the alarming sign is dizziness, hunger for breath and these symptoms does not have any other obvious pathology, at this point I would advise you not to worry you will be doing great even after having this kind of problem, I would be happy to answered your any further query haven ice day.
