Diagnosed With Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Had Bone Marrow Transplant. Skin And Turning Yellow. Is It Serious?
My 18 year old sister was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and after an unsuccessful chemotherapy she had a bone marrow transplant half a month ago.Now she is back home and I am very cautious about infenctions but I observed that her skin and eyes have turned yellow and I worry very much for her. What does that mean and is it serious? How can I help her?
thanks for your question. it sounds like your sister is becoming jaundiced. this is due to the liver not working properly. she should seek medical attention to have blood work and a ultrasound scan of her liver.
I hope this helps you
best wishes
