Diagnosed With Chest TB. Taking Treatment. Skin Getting Darker. Will I Regain My Completion Back?

Hi Doc, I was diagnosed with chest TB last year December fortunately it was cought very early .Ive been on treatment for the 6 months and im abt to complete my treatment. I am biologicaly very light skinned African lady at the age of 26 , after being put on treatment , I started noticing that my complexion was getting darker.Right now ive gone 5 shades darker, I don t want to use lighting creams because I don t want to damage my skin. Will I regain my complexion once I ve finished the TB treament ? Is there anything I can do right now ?

Hi thanks for using HCM.

First of all am congragulate you for taking complete right treatment at right time. Darkening(skin changes) due to anti tuberculosis drugs are one of the side effects. But it wan't stay long.
You will regain your normal complexion after completing your treatment and based on your skin cells turn over. It may take upto 2 - 3 months. You can avoid sun using sun screen lotions and drink plenty of fluids. I hope you are taking multivitamins tablets. Hope you got your answer. Wish you good health. Take care.
