Diagnosed With Diabetes. Had High BP And Kidney Stones. Can Vinegar Smelling Sweat Indicate Diabetes?

husbands sweat smelled like vinegar when he was younger and has now been diagnosed type 2 diabetes. he is underweight not over weight past history of renal failure and high blood pressure kidney stones heart murmur but no diabetes was ever checked for until now. could there be a connection between his smell and diagnosis?could vinegar smell be an indicator for diabetes?

Ketosis can occur in uncontrolled diabetes. In this condition the body is either short of insulin or cannot use it and as a result starts breaking down other tissues for energy.
Ketosis can be associated with an odor but is he had an odour related to ketosis , he would have been diagnosed with diabetes before because he would have felt unwell because of the elevated blood sugar and the fluid loss that is associated with it.

There is unlikely to be any connection between the smell you are describing.
