Diagnosed With Pedunculated Polyp That Needs To Be Removed. Have Smelly Vaginal Bleed. Advice?
I have been diagnosed with a pedunculated polyp which needs to be removed. Since being examined by a gynaecologist on Tuesday I have developed a foul smelling vaginal bleed over the last two days. Smells like rotting meat and blood is very dark. Do I need to return to dr urgently or should I wait for surgery appointment to come through?
It is more likely that you have develop and infection within the last two days that you started noticing the fowl smell and dark blood.
Genital tract infections can be quite severe if it spreads to the pelvis in which case it will lead to pelvic inflammatory diseases with the potential of causing infertility, ectopic pregnancy and abscesses.
It is important to see your doctor for an evaluation and to rule out possible degeneration of the polyp. He will put you on antibiotics probably after a smear if he judges it that way.
