Hello, thanks for using HCM.
Scabies is caused by infection from a parasite called
Sarcoptes scabiei which is characterised by
severe itching especially in the night and mostly between the fingers and buttocks areas. It is transmitted by close contact with an infected person and mostly more than one person is affected in a household.
Sulfur is traditional medication for treating scabies. However, it is effective when used in an oilment form and its effectiveness is less than the contemporary medications such as
benzyl benzoate (ascabiol), spregal etc.
Treatment for scabies is done simultaneously by every one in the house regardless whether they have symptoms or not and should be repeated 1 week later and each time all dresses and bedding washed and ironed.
So, i will advice you see your doctor for prescription of a more effective anti-scabies lotion like benzyl benzoate (ascabiol) which is safe even in
pregnancy and in children, you get all your beddings and dresses washed and ironed, everyone gets treated at the same time and everyone gets to repeat the treatment one week later.
thanks and hope this helps.
