Thank you! I have been diagnosed with CLL but the oncologist said it would probably be 15 years before I see symptoms. I am a 77-year-old woman. On January 2, I started developing a sore throat and cough and was very weak.. Over the days it increased to a very deep cough with some phlegm. On January 7, I went to the doctor who said I had a "touch of the flu" and gave me a cough medicine (guaifenesin/codeine syrup). My stomach was on fire from the codeine. On the 9th, I was switched to a lesser cough med and an x-ray showed some bronchitis (still taking antibiotic). The cough has lessened from a very deep cough to just a deep cough with phlegm each time. I am very weak and must rest most of the time. I read on the Internet one is not supposed to take antibiotics with CLL. I don't know if I should go through the weekend to see if I'm better, or contact my doctor this morning (Friday).
