Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
had a pneumothorax (3rd since oct 2015) during hospitalization they finally agree d to do a pleuraldesis and a bullectomy surgery to prevent future collapses .. we had trouble managing the pain so they put me on IV toradol thru the length of my hospitalization (7 days) I am aware of the general 5 days use term for toradol .. when i was discharged and the toradol wore off my oxycodone could not keep up with the level of pain so i ended up back in the er still having a small pneumothorax and still dealing with the pain from surgery/recovery they gave me a prescription for toradol 15 pills 1 every 8 hrs .. now that my Opioid induced constipation is wearing off and the pain is mangeable .. Bowel movements past 2 days have resulted in a bleed at rectum thus far only appearing on toilet paper. did toradol just screw up my GI tract ?
Toradol can cause serious gastrointestinal (GI) adverse events including bleeding, ulceration and perforation, of the stomach, small intestine, or large intestine, which can be fatal.
Minor upper gastrointestinal problems, such as dyspepsia, are common and may also occur at any time during NSAID therapy.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr AJEET SINGH, General & Family Physician
