The most important condition to rule out in your son's case would be
obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), where there is obstruction in the airway while sleeping, resulting in small periods of
choking and inability to breathe. A sleep study (
polysomnography) would help in this. EEG recording is also included in this study, which would also help in diagnosing any seizures.
