Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting your query.
With the available described symptoms, there appears to be possibility of Acute upper respiratory tract infection with secondary bacterial infection and muscle ache.
Presence of pain on coughing, something swollen up in throat and cold suggest the diagnosis.
You should consult with internal medicine specialist/ ENT surgeon and should go for thorough check up.
You should also take complete antibiotic course, decongestants , analgesics along with muscle relaxants.
You should also take cough suppressants. Need of bronchodilators will be decided by clinical examination.
Perform gargles three times in day; a glass of luke warm water with a pinch of salt.
If your condition won't improve after these therapy, then only you should go for endoscopy.
Take care,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
