Disc Space Between S1 And S2 Narrowed, lower Back Pain, swollen Ankle.
As per my Xray the disc space between S1 and S2 have narrowed. I get the pain in lower back when I go for a walk. Whe I get up from the chair, it takes me 6 to 10 seconds to stand straigth. I also have a swelling in my ankle - especially my left foot . That pain I can feel from my lower back to ankle as if it is connected. Please suggest a remedy/exercise
Hello Mug,
Welcome here on hcm.
There is no such thing like vertebral disc space in between S1 and S2.
The sacrum vertebrae are almost fused making a triangular bone.
You must get you data checked and come here again.
Your left foot swelling must be evaluated individually.
As far your leg pain is concerned it must be a sciatica pain and you must get evaluated its cause.
Thanks
Hi Mughda, you have not mentioned your age and your level of physical activity.
You are suffering from discodegenerative disease with probably radiculopathy (the radiating pain to ankle). Do take rest on hard mattress, take muscle relaxant, analgesic, calcium supplements, hot fomentation for 4-5 days. For radicular pain you can take preaparation containing pre-gabalin.
Once the pain has subsided do spinal flexion exercises along with regular walk.
