Hi I'm 71yrs old about a month ago all of a sudden I felt something on the right side below rib cage I didn't do anything to cause it,not in any pain but it feels either like maybe a rib or cartlidge of some kind it feels flat and firm not like a cyst wondering what I should do I don't think its anything serious but you never know Thanks

Discomfort below the right rib cage, ie right hypochondrium could be due to hepatomegaly, i.e liver palpable. Not sure about the liver span, because its not mentioned in the question. If it is just firm, non tender, just palpable. it is normal. If it is very much palpable and tender, yellow conjunctiva, should see your physician, and get ultrasound done.
