Dizzy Spells, Weakness In Knees, Fatigue, Shooting Pain In Head And Right Ears. On Medication For Hypothyroidism. Suggested Weight Loss. Opinion?

I am a 41 year old female, 5'3", 330lbs. Presents with bilateral swelling in the lower extremities, frequent dizzy spells, infrequent weakness in the knees, fatigue, and the last two days, sharp shooting pains in the right side crown of my head and into my right ear that come and go like lightening strikes. Occasionally, I get sores in my nose and mouth but no fever or rash to speak of. I have been diagnosed for 20 years with Hypothyroidism and take 275 mcg Levothyroxine daily. Blood work shows all normal but borderline diabetic and slightly anemic. My GP just says I need to lose weight Need a second opinion.

Hi,
Thanks for the query.

Your dizzy spells and weakness can be due to anemia, borderline diabetes etc.
Excessive weight can lead to joint pains.
You once consult ENT surgeon and rule out any possible nasal infection.
And any possible neuropathy should be ruled out.
You have to keep in control your thyroid hormonal levels, blood sugar levels and blood pressure. As your doctor says decreasing the weight is essential to prevent further complications.
