Hello,
You are feeling thirsty all the time. You have history of thyroid since 10 years.
Thyroid disease causes low production and release of saliva from salivary glands and hence
dry mouth / throat that triggers thirst. Excessive thirst is also a symptom of
dehydration. Make sure that the water you drink is rich in mineral content so that your body electrolyte system is replenished.
Make sure you are always well hydrated. Excessive thirst is also a clear indication of developing
diabetes. Take diet low in sugar and carbohydrates. Maintain healthy weight, do regular exercises. Get clinically examined by a GP, get
thyroid function tests (T3, T4, TSH) and blood glucose (F,PP) done. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from stress, anxiety. Take adequate rest and home made food. Avoid addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
