Do Abilify Withdrawal Effects Persist For A Long Period?
My son is taking Lexapro and his doctor prescribed Abilify for depression. He took Abilify for about 10 days and stopped because it was making him feel bad. His legs won’t stay still and I think he is having panic attacks. He started out at 5mgs and then went to 10mgs then stopped. He has been off Abilify for a week and is still having withdrawals. His doctor has replaced Abilify with Remulti. However this seems to be like Abilify. My son is 22 yrs old. He still lives at home so I am seeing the withdrawal he is going through. We are wondering how long the withdrawal from Abilify will take.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Withdrawal symptoms totally depends on the person. No two people are going to have the same length of withdrawal. The Abilify stays in your system for up to 34 days after your last dose, but the actual time it takes your brain and body to return to normative functioning may be a much longer time period.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
