Do Aspelone And Prelone Both Serve The Purpose Of Reducing Cough?

My 20 month old boy is using Augmaxil antibiotic, Panado & Ponstel for fever, ACC200 for flem. I went back to my Doctor because he got a bad cough. My Doc have prescribed Prelone but instead I got the Aspelone and Bisolvent Linctus from my pharmacy as the pharmacist said the Aspelone and Prelone serves the same purpose. Is this correct? I am using all these medication, he seems a bit better though but still have the cough.
