Do Bactrim And Z-Pak Cause Rashes On The Legs?

I have a 10 year old daughter who has been running a fever of 103 for 3 days. She has been dx with kidney infection and pneumonia. She is on bactrurm and zpak. Today she has a rash all over her legs and a different looking rash on the trunk of her body. Could this be from the medication or the fever? Or is this another symptom of something else that could be going on? I am not sure if she needs to be seen again.

Hi
Thanks for trusting HealthCare magic for your health problems.

I understand your concern. Both of these drugs Z- Pack and bactrim can cause rashes as allergic reactions. You can start tablet levocetrizine 2.5 mg and consult treating physician as early as possible to prevent further progress. I don't know why 2 antibiotics are given for the treatment of pneumonia.

Regards
