Do Citalopram And Omeprazole Cause Heart Problems?

I have been on Citalopram 40mg for more than 10 years and Omeprazole 40mg for over five years and 80mg for 1 year. My pharmacist called this past weekend to advise me that there could be serious side effets concerning my heart. one year ago I had an emergency heart problem with very low heart rate. I did not have any past history or family history of any heart problems. I am now concerned about these two medications that I have been taking. Could they be a cause of my recent heart problems and could they cause future issues.

hello there, after reading your query I can see here that after hearing from pharmacist you got more anxious about your medicines. As you have said you are taking these medicines from last 10 years and you were tolerating them well. Citalopram has very less cardiac side effects. As you were maintaining well on these medicines I would suggest you to continue with the same and if you experience some side effects then consult your treating doctor over same. All the best.
