Do Dermovate And Prednisone Have Any Side Effects On A 19-year-old Teen?

I ve been suffering from Vitiligo since I was 10. I m 19 now. New patches have developed since last year (right before my AS exams). I ve taken phototherapy for 2 years. It s been 3 years that I have stopped. My doctor has given me Tacrolimus and Dermovate to apply to the patches twice a day each. She has also given me Prednisone tablets (4 in the morning and to reduce the number of tablets by 1 every 10 days). I have to take 50 sittings of phototherapy as well. Can you please tell me if Dermovate and Prednisone will have any side effects on me and is the treatment alright?

Hello,

Vitiligo is a disease that doesn't have a special and definitive cure. Dermovate and prednisone will help because they are usually recommend in this case. Prednisone belongs to the steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and it has its side effects on making skin thin and fragile also it may make you increase weight and blood sugar.
