Do Duphaston Pills Help To Conceive?

Dear Doctor, We are planning for pregnency, usullay my wife period cycle at regular, I mean 27/28 days, we consult an infertility doctor, advise to take an duphaston medicine for 18 days, lat menstrual was on jan 13th, its alredy delay for 8 days, but doctor advise to continue the medicine till 20th of this month, we checked the urine test for pregenancy, its shows negative, we have doubt, while using duphaston menstrual not happens or when we can check for pregnency test. I understand your concern.
Duphaston contains 'dydrogesteron', which is a type of progesterone which will helps in maintaining pregnancy if conception occurs.
In your case it should help in this way first to increase the possibility of conception, if fertilization has occurred.
If conception does not occur then it will cause endometrial shedding and menstruation. You may take the medications as advised and check with urine pregnancy test again after 2 weeks.
So no need to worry much and better follow the instructions of your doctor and be in regular consultation.
