Do Ferti-C Shots Help In Treating PCOS?

hi, i have been diagnosed with pcos before 3 months, doctor prescribed me clomid on 3rd day of periods and ferti C injection on 13th day along with metformin and folic acid, i have taken clomid but didn t go for the injection, until now didn t conceived, can i go for the ferti C injection now?

Hi,

What medications has been prescribed is proper for your underlying condition PCOS. Metformin would reduce insulin resistance and helps in ovulation process. Folic acid will help to keep the tissues healthy and prepare for implantation.

Clomid will help in the maturation of ovum. Ferti-C injection contains human chorionic gonadotropin hormone, which helps ovum to mature and release from the ovaries. Since ovulation should take place around 13th day, it needs to be taken on that day what had been advised. When you time the intercourse during this period after injection, it would improve the chances of conception.

If you take later, then it would not be of any use. Kindly follow the instructions as given by your doctor and do the necessary follow-up as advised.
