Do I Need Insulin With A Rise In Glucose Levels?

HI, I am Jo . A week after my last treatment of Taxol I was told that my glucose level has been going up and the last blood test it was 400 will I BE A DIEBETIC for life and should I be put on the shot please help me I don t know what to do My Dr, says I need to take insulin help please

Dear jo i can understand your concern
i am very sorry for your condition.
blood sugar in the range of 400 mg/dl is Diabetic range of blood sugar.
usually this range of blood sugar needs the usage of insulin for a short period in case of type 2 diabetes.
since i don't know the details of your age height and weight i can not comment on your type of diabetes.
in my opinion taking insulin is good idea in this kind of conditions
its also advisable to follow good diet and exercise pattern for effective lowering of blood sugar.
type 1 diabetes most seen in very young kids
type 2 diabetes is mostly seen in middle age individuals and incidence will increase after 35 yrs of age.
i suggest you to discuss with your doc regarding the diagnosis.
