What Needs To Be Done To Reduce The Glucose And Insulin Levels?
I have been dx with insulin resistance for about 10 years. Recently my glucose levels have gone up but my last fasting insulin test shows my insulin still very high. I have begun taking 2 metformin pills daily instead of just one. My doctor suggested taking insulin too. If my insulin levels are high why would I need to take insulin? Isn't there something else that would lower my glucose and insulin levels?
Excessive glucose and excessive insulin levels, both are harmful and needs to corrected as early as possible.
To reduce the glucose levels there are so many drugs available like insulin, oral drugs, but some of the oral drugs and insulin will increase the serum insulin levels.
So the best way to decrease the insulin and glucose is to use metformin, which is a insulin sensitizer which increase the utilization of insulin and decrease the production of glucose from liver.
Hence consult your doctor, and start metformin at appropriate doses.
Thanks
