Do I Need Oxygen Once The Red Blood Cells Become Normal Having Been Diagnosed With Sleep Apnea?

I have had a sleep test at a hospital and they put me on a machine. Now they want to tye oxygen into the machine, My red cells are too high and my cancer doctor feels like the machine will help bring them down. If I have oxygen put on my machine do I have to stay on it the rest of my life. I plan on staying long enough to bring my red cells down and then go off the oxygen but stay on the machine. I definitely do have sleep apne but I don t think UI will need oxygen after the red cells come down.

Typically, once a diagnosis of sleep apnea requiring nighttime oxygen is made patients are kept on this regimen for whatever period of time is necessary until the cause of the sleep apnea can be fixed. If the sleep apnea occurs without any obvious cause then, the treatment of O2 should be for an indefinite period of time.
