Do I Need To Follow Certain Steps On How To Feed Both Breast Milk And The Formula?
Hi doc... I have one month and 5 day old bb since he was born I already introduce formula due to my less of breastmilk but still I am giving him my breastmilk until now, since then he has pooing almost every feeding and smelling. I give him formula right after my milk if he will cry or not satisfied in 24 hours 6 times. Is this okey? He also poo 6 times? Then I realized to change the milk, now I am using NAN1 to my bb hopefully everything will be okey. I do the same procedure I will give formula if needed after having my breastmilk. Do I need to follow step how to give formula and breastmilk? Need your help. Mariah
I think you are doing it right. Always offer breast feed then offer the formula milk. Try to feed from one breast so it empties and then swap to the opposite breast. You then offer the formula feed after the breast feed, baby with take what he needs. Stool consistency and frequency can change with introduction of formula milk. Try to mix the milk as per the instructions. Donot worry, he will be fine. The stool frequency is OK, will settle down. Make sure you DO NOT give up breast feeding.
