Do I Need To Increase The Dosage Of Diabetic Medicine?
Hi, My name is Tina. My blood sugar at 6 pm today was 273. I m currently taking 600 mg of Metformin twice a day. Can I increase that amount until I see my Endocrinologist for the first time on Wednesday. Also just finished a course of steroids, IV salumedrol during a hospital stay one and a half weeks ago and prednisone at home, now completed.
hi, I had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
The sugar level you have mentioned are higher than normal. But you have mentioned only one random level. That could some times happen based on food taken that day or physical activity. when such thing happens like after a time when the levels become uncontrolled persistently with the present drug, either the dose is increased or a new drug is added to the present drug. For now don't worry much, wait until you consult your treating doctor
