Do I Need To Meet A Doctor For Non-itchy Redness Near The Corner Of The Lip?

Hi, I'm 17, I have a redness spot at my lip corner. It's not itchy. I usually wake up with saliva stain and it's white color. My mom told me that it's candidas infection but she 's not sure. Could you please let me know what kind of medication I can buy from over the counter or I need to meet the doctor. Thanks so much.Mary

Hi. Thanks for asking on HCM

The condition that you have is called Angular cheilitis/Perleche.

I usually ask my patients to take a B-complex vitamin fortified with zinc once daily for 2 weeks.

Topical clotrimazole cream also helps my patients, since it is usually complicated by superimposed candida.

take care
