Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
at 27 weeks pregnant i was diagnosed with strep b after a yellow, greenish discharge but very minimal. i was treated with penecillin. i m now 34 weeks and getting the discharge again, not alot but it is chunky. is this due to the strep b or could it be something else to worry about
Positive strep B infection is not recommended anymore to be treated during pregnancy but at the time of delivery. So in your case, even though you have already taken the antibiotics you do not need to repeat the test again but take the antibiotics again during delivery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
