Do I Need To Worry About Large BPD In Ultrasound Results?

Hi,
My ultrasound measurement at 25 weeks is
BPD 7.02 cm (28 wk 1 day +/- 16 days )
AC 18.35 23 wk 1 day +/- 15 days
FL 4.18 23 wk 4 day +/- 13 days

I am an Indian hence I understand that AC and FL should be ok. Do i need to worry about the large BPD

Hi,
Thanks for writing in.

Since you are in your 25th week of pregnancy, BPD corresponding to 28 weeks is acceptable. However it is important to know the complete growth profile of the baby and comparison with earlier reports. Growth is measured by taking BPD, HC, AC and FL. Though there is nothing to worry, you may get a repeat scan done if desired to know any operator variables in taking BPD measurement.

Hope this helps
