Do I Need Treatment From A GP Or Orthopedician For Knee Pain?

Hello, I ve had pain in and around my knee for about 4-7 days now and it s mainly when I m walking or using stairs and I have a slight popping or clicking motion in my upper right knee. Previously I thought I had an ACL or Miniscus tear on my right knee but I was never properly diagnosed as I m one of those type of people who would expect my local GP to just give me some Antibiotics. I ve done research about this sort of thing and I haven t exactly found anything useful, so I came here to see if I should have to visit my local GP or an Orthopedic doctor. Thanks for the help.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. For your knee pain it better to consult an orthopedician if possible. X ray of knee joint will be needed in case of signs of arthritis. You can take over the counter NSAIDs like ibuprofen ( motrin ) for short duration like 3 to 5 days. Ice pack application also can be done.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
