Hi & Welcome.
I can understand your concern regarding the safety of the prescribed anti-TB medications during
pregnancy.
The use of Isoniazide and
Rifampicin does not affect pregnancy.
Since your pregnancy test is found to be positive you may continue taking the medications as prescribed by your treating physician.
These medications have no evidence of causing any harm to the growing fetus (unborn baby).
Most home pregnancy test kits are 99 percent effective.
A positive pregnancy test result does not necessarily indicate a viable pregnancy. If home pregnancy test shows a positive result, it is important to to get it confirmed with a
blood test or by an
ultrasound scan.
There are many reasons why a pregnancy test may yield false positive results like improper use of pregnancy test, expired pregnancy test, testing too early, or contaminated urine sample.
The disease process (
tuberculosis) may delay the periods but will not cause the false positive test. The prescribed medications are not known to be responsible for the false positive results.
Hope this answers your query.
