Do Microgynon And Ferrous Fumarate Pills Regulate Menstrual Cycles?
Hi, I am 21 years old and not sexually active or ever been pregnant. I ve always missed my period for 3 or 4 months at a time and i just started taking microgynon ed and ferrous fumarate pills. Will this help regulate my period and what side effects can i expect?
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. Microgynon is a combined birth control pill containing ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel. It is also used to keep the periods regular, lighter and less painful along with overcoming pre-menstrual symptoms. Ferrous fumarate is iron supplement given to restore iron levels in the body and treat anaemia, which could be caused due to blood loss during heavy and prolonged bleeding. Kindly take the medications as advised. Regular follow-up is also necessary. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
