Do R-Cinex 600 And Optineuron Have Any Side Effects?

I have been diagonised with cold abcess ( TB lymph nodes) left lower portion of the neck. I was advised to take Akurit 4 for 1st two months. now they have started Rcinex 600 for the next 5 months. is it the right treatment? Along with this ,i am taking optineuron forte. I want to know any side effects of all these medicines? What should be my diet?

Hi,

I can understand your concern regarding the safety of the prescribed anti-TB medications. R-Cinex 600 (Rifampicin + Isoniazid) can cause inflammation of the nerves, anemia, liver injury, flu like symptoms. Yes, it is the correct treatment prescribed by your doctor, continue to take it for remaining 5 months. Optineuron is a multivitamins and minerals containing drug usually given along with R-Cinex to prevent some of its side effects like inflammation of the nerves, anemia, etc. It is also well tolerated however it may cause allergic reactions & difficulty in breathing in some patients. You are advised to take high protein diet include fresh fruits and vegetables.
