Do Sizodon And Zosert Cause Any Side Effects During Future Pregnancies?
Hi Doctor My wife is taking sizodon 2mg and zosert 50mg at night and zosert 50mg in the morning due to being suffered depression. Also she is being taking this medication about 5 months now and she is lot better than before. My question is does this effect for family plan ?? As we are planning to have our 2nd baby ???
Hello thanks for putting your query on healthcaremagic.com
I can understand your concern. Zosert is Sertraline and is a SSRI drug. The drug is considered as safe drug compared to other SSRI in pregnancy. The drug is antidepressant of choice in pregnancy.
Sizodon is Risperidone and is an antipsychotic, mood stabiliser drug. The drug should be used cautiously during pregnancy. If you are planning for a baby then report this to her psychiatrist and if needed the dose of Sizodone can be reduced gradually while Sertraline can be continued.
The drugs will not affect the family plan but yes Risperidone might cause effects on developing foetus.
Thanks, Take care
