Do Zetia And Atorvastatin When Taken Together Cause Low Platelet Count?

Hi, could both Zetia and Atorvaststin cause low platelet count (thrombocytopenia, I am told) ? If so, would taking both of them increase the odds of the low platelet count? I take one 40 mg tab of Atorvastatin and one 10 mg tab of Zetia per day at the same time (7:00 pm). Thank you!

Hi Dear XXX ! Thank you for posting your questions here .
I would say that yes one of the side effect of both medication that we use to low your cholestrerol levels ,Atorvastatin and Zetia is trombocytopenia .The risk each medication to cause that is very low according to what is reported from the patients that have used them .
They are used together in the same time for incremental effect.
I would suggest that's it's ok to take them both and if you have any kind of bleeding report to your doctor .Check you liver , muscles by doing every 3 month the blood tests.
