Do Antibiotics For E.coli Infection Cause Constipation?
Please. My husband and I have been diagnosed with E. Coli. Our physician has prescribed antibiotics, which we have taken for three days. Next we have some powder to help bind to the diarrhea. I am a little anxious about it all. I don t want to go against the advice of my doctor but I m afraid of abnormal constipation and have read that antibiotics are not recommended. What should we do?
Hi and welcome to Healthcaremagic. Thank you for your query. I am Dr. Rommstein, I understand your concerns and I will try to help you as much as I can.
It should not cause significant constipation and you should just have more liquid fluids and easier food and it will prevent any complication.
I hope I have answered you query. If you have any further questions you can contact us in every time. Kindly regards. Wish you a good health. DR. Ivan Rommstein
