Welcome to HCM. Chocolate cysts and endometriosis are same, but polycystic ovaries and endometriosis are two different things. They may co-exist. In endometriosis, during menstruation, blood collects in the ovary / ovaries also, and gives rise to swellings filled with blood, called chocolate cysts, because of their colour. This may cause severe pain during menses. On the other hand polycystic ovaries are multiple immature follicles in the ovaries, and these result in irregular periods, obesity and excess hair growth in unwanted places. Both these conditions make it difficult to conceive, but are treatable.
yes , the chocolate cysts and endometriosis of ovary are same... it is caused due to abnormal distribution of the endometrial tissue in the ovary... the fluid in the cyst of ovary is like chocolate , hence the name chocolate cyst..
