Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Do Concussions In The Past Cause Recurring Severe Headaches?
My 23 year old daughter has had headaches that have progressively gotten worse but happen sporadically (few times a month) and the last time it was more intense and she vomited. When in high school she received 2 concussions playing basketball. She went to the ER both times and was told she would be okay. Is there any correlation...should she have a head scan done?
The intense headache can be related to many medical conditions. One of the possible conditions can be migraine.
So, I recommend to consult a neurologist for further evaluation. Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
